Most people like to change the way the computer interface looks to personalize their experience. Windows has given you control and it is very easy to make those changes. The most significant change that most people want to do is change the wallpaper (desktop background). In order to change your wallpaper all you need to do is the following:
Windows XP
- Right click on a blank part of the Desktop
- Select Properties
- Click on the Desktop Tab
- Select the Wallpaper You Wish to Use
- Click on Apply to View the Selected Wallpaper
Windows Vista
- Right click on a blank part of the Desktop
- Select Personalize
- Click on Desktop Background
- From here you can choose any photo on your system (using the Browse... button) or you can chose from a set of pictures via the drop down list
- Clicking an image will temporally change your wallpaper to that picture so you can preview what it will actually look like
- Clicking "OK" will make the picture your wallpaper; clicking Cancel will undo any changes
For those of you who have many different images and can't decide on which one to use, grab the free Wallpaper Changer program from http://cs.ecs.baylor.edu/~lovej/projects/wallpaperchanger/ and have it switch between all of your images in the folders you pick.
