Shortcut to Shortcuts

Many times you will find yourself wading through what seems like endless folders trying to get to that file you need. If it's something you'll need to get to often, you should create a shortcut to it.

Any kind of file can have a shortcut, which is simply a pointer to that file. There are several ways to do this, but this is the most popular: Right-click on the file or icon, and choose Send To/Desktop. You can move the shortcut by highlighting it and using Edit/Cut, and then Edit/Paste after highlighting the desired folder.

Deleting the shortcut will not do anything to the file itself. You can distinguish between a file and a shortcut by the little black arrow in the white box on top of a shortcut's icon.
