Every time you use the computer, you probably have to use the left mouse button. But don't let that right mouse button go unused! It offers hundreds of shortcuts to doing common tasks.
Anything you right-click in Windows will give you frequently needed options without browsing through the menus. For instance, say you'd like to change your desktop background. You might go to the Start/Settings/Control Panel and Display, but all you need to do it right-click on your desktop and go to Properties (click anywhere there's not an icon). If you're looking through a folder of files in Windows Explorer or My Computer and you'd like to move, delete or rename files, right-clicking them will give all those options and more without going through the menus.
Most Windows-based programs allow you to use the right mouse button. For instance, when working with a document in Microsoft Word, you can right click various parts of the document to get various formatting options, depending on what you click. Try right-clicking various places in the document and see how the options change.
Also, try right-clicking the taskbar at the bottom of your screen — see what options you have. In addition, try right-clicking the clock or any of the icons in your taskbar — check out all the quick shortcuts this gives you.
